Head of Women’s Football set to depart after nearly five years in post

Burnley Football Club can announce that Head of Women’s Football Lola Ogunbote will leave her position at the end of June.

Since joining the Club in 2021 Ogunbote has played a pivotal role in shaping the club's football strategy, overseeing significant progress across recruitment, player development, performance structures, and overall football operations.

Her leadership has contributed to a period of growth and achievement both on and off the pitch, culminating in promotion from the FA Women’s National League Northern Premier Division.

Reflecting on her departure, Ogunbote said: "It has been an incredible privilege to serve as Head of Women’s Football at Burnley Football Club over the past five years.

"I am immensely proud of what we have achieved together and grateful to everyone who has played a part, particularly Alan Pace and the board for their unwavering support.

"Winning the Women's National League will always stand out as the crowning moment of my time here — a testament to the hard work, belief, and togetherness of everyone involved.

"While it is never easy to say goodbye, I believe this is the right time for me to pursue a new challenge. I leave with wonderful memories, lasting friendships, and complete confidence in the club's future."

Chairman Alan Pace paid tribute to her contribution, adding: "On behalf of everyone at Burney FC I would like to thank Lola for her outstanding commitment and leadership over the last five years.

"She has been instrumental in driving our women's football vision forward and has left a lasting legacy that will benefit the club for many years to come.

“We wish her every success in the next chapter of her career and thank her for everything she has done. She will always be a part of the Burnley family.”
