The Burnley number one discusses recent performances, the second half of the season and Saturday's opponents Brighton & Hove Albion.
Pope on recent performances:
“I think there is a fair amount of confidence, from that defensive solidity that we have built on over the last few weeks.
“Some decent results in there against some top teams like United and Arsenal, so there is definitely some confidence going into the weekend.
“It’s good to have something to build on like that, it’s a big second half of the season for us coming up.
“I feel like performance levels are close to where they need to be to get points on the board and turn some draws into wins.”
Pope on Brighton:
“They have had a good season so far, a team that have grown into the Premier League since they have come into it and taken forward steps each year.
“It will be a difficult game; it always is down there. But for us every game is a big game, and we must have the belief that difficult games are natural to us.
“They’re a good team, they’ve been in the Premier League for a long time, but so have we and we need to put our foot down now.”
Pope on the busy upcoming second half of the season:
“We’ve only just gone over our halfway stage of the season, with all the postponed games we had over Christmas.
“There’s still a really long way to go, but for us the aim is now get back into the mix and drag more teams around us into it.
“It’s not the first time we have been around here in the table, but there has been seasons we have done very well, finished 10th and getting Europe the season before.
“Then there has been over seasons where we have had to scrap it out in March and April to get over the line, we know what it’s about and know what we need to do.”
