Morgan on the Club’s ambitions for the women’s team:
“It was one of the biggest influences for me. It’s really important to find a Club which matches your own ambitions but also pushes them and Burnley will definitely do that for me.
“I’ve been fortunate enough to meet Alan Pace and a number of other people within the Club already. Every single person has sold me the vision, they showed me that it’s such as a one-club mentality and that they are really behind the women’s game.
“Having that approach is key because it helps the girls to feel professional and most importantly it will allow them to engage with fans more who will see a professional female setup so they can follow it more then buy into it more.
“I’m just fortunate that they saw that I could be the person to take the team forward because I think it’s a fantastic opportunity.”
Morgan on the side’s fortunes this season:
“They’ve had some fantastic wins, some big wins as well and I think it really sets a great platform for the women’s setup to go on, not just to compete but to go on and win the league next season. That’s going to be the aim, that’s the ambition.
“I’ve come to watch a few games over the last few weeks and the one thing I’ve definitely picked up on is that there’s an abundance of creativity within this team. We’ve got some fantastic players already in that squad and I’m really looking forward to supporting them on their journey.
“I think the way Burnley have integrated the women’s side into the football club has been really fantastic. I’m just the lucky one to come in and take over at this time and I’m going to do my best for this Club.”
Morgan on setting standards:
“Most importantly for me, it’s about not letting standards drop below those in the Women’s Super League. While we’re in the Northern Premier Division of the FA Women’s National League, it doesn’t mean that we don’t have aspirations to be a Women’s Super League outfit.
“I want to make sure that the girls feel comfortable, play the way that they have been playing and understanding it. I’m not here to try and make big changes. It’s to tweak and
add on to what they’ve already done. They have done fantastic so that’s how I’m going to approach it and hopefully they’ll buy into it.”
Morgan on what Clarets fans can expect from his side:
“Fitness is key to me. Being the fittest team in the league is something that I’ll try to pride them on because that’s something they need to aspire to be. If you’re not fit, then you can’t win games in my opinion.
“Other than that, it’ll be to have a possession-based style of play, look to play forward as quickly as possible and look to create individuals who bring out their flair, allowing them to be match winners.
“Doing that will create an entertaining style of play for the fans and we’re going to need them next season. To get bigger crowds and to make people want to come back, we’re going to have to entertain them.”
Morgan on being a unified outfit:
“Togetherness is huge. If you’re not together, then you can’t win, it’s as simple as that. You can have the best player in the world but if you’ve got ten other players that don’t fight for that player then you won’t win.
“It’s so critical, and I think in the female game, it’s even more key. This Club is showing togetherness as a real key trait, and that’s only ever going to be a positive for the girls.”
