Dwight McNeil’s stunning winner at Everton has been nominated for the Premier League’s Budweiser Goal of the Month award.
McNeil, whose goal sealed a superb 2-1 victory over the Toffees, is on an eight-man shortlist for the March prize.
The Clarets’ winger earned his spot thanks to a brilliant solo effort at Goodison Park.

Collecting a pass from Matej Vydra, McNeil jinked inside midfielder Allan before taking a couple of steps towards the Everton penalty area and curling a sweet left-footer around defender Ben Godfrey and past England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford into the top corner.
It was a goal worthy of winning any prize, but McNeil will need the votes of Clarets’ fans in a supporters’ poll to help land the award.

The short-list also includes goals scored by Jesse Lingard, Leandro Trossard, Erik Lamela, Harry Kane, Che Adams, Mason Mount and Kelechi Iheanacho, whose goal for Leicester City was scored against Burnley at Turf Moor.
McNeil’s nomination is the second in as many months for a Burnley player after Matt Lowton’s goal at Crystal Palace was short-listed for the February prize, which went to Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes.
