Lyle Foster came off the bench to win it for the Clarets in second half stoppage time, as Scott Parker’s men clinched a remarkable 3-2 victory at Molineux.

Leading 2-0 inside the opening half an hour thanks to Zian Flemming’s brace, Burnley conceded two late goals in the first half, to go in on level terms at half-time.

A fifth goal looked unlikely in a quieter second half, but then, with just a minute of added time to play, Foster seized on Hannibal’s through ball, sliding the ball home to spark mayhem in the away end!

In a topsy-turvy first half, the Clarets stormed into a two-goal lead, thanks to Flemming’s first Premier League goals.

But Wolves, despite being second best for much of the half, somehow clawed themselves level at the break – Jorgen Strand Larsen scoring from the spot after a controversial decision to award a penalty on 43 minutes, and Marshall Munetsi drawing the hosts level in the third minute of added time.

It seemed destined to end with honours even, but Foster hadn’t read the script, writing his own incredible headline with a goal at the death.

Parker named an unchanged team from the Clarets’ 2-0 victory against Leeds United in match-week eight.

Martin Dúbravka started in goal, behind a back four of Kyle Walker, Maxime Estève, Axel Tuanzebe and Quilindschy Hartman.

Josh Cullen skippered the Clarets in a midfield three alongside Florentino and in-form Lesley Ugochukwu, with Jaidon Anthony and Jacob Bruun Larsen supporting Flemming in attack, with the fit-again Lyle Foster was named amongst the Clarets substitutes.

On a chilly Sunday afternoon in the Midlands, the visitors made a positive start, dominating the opening exchanges.

Cullen stung the palms of Sam Johnston with a dipping sixth minute volley from fully 25-yards, before play quickly sprung up the other end, with Dubravka on hand to end a quick counter from Wolves, diving low to his left to deny Rodrigo Gomes.

That chance gave the hosts a bit of momentum, with Jhon Arias’s close-range effort moments later hitting the side-netting following a teasing Gomes cross.

It was the Clarets, though, that opened the scoring on 13 minutes and what a goal it was too!

Hartman’s audacious ball over the top looked innocuous to say the latest, but Flemming had other ideas, losing his marker and expertly volleying home, first time, from the edge of the box, to hand Parker’s men a dream start.

Buoyed by their goal, Burnley continued to pose a huge threat every time they piled forward, and they were rewarded with a second goal on the half hour mark – and it that combination of Hartman and Flemming at it again!

After a fine move, with the Clarets switching it from right to left with ease, Hartman seized onto Cullen’s cross-field pass, playing the ball across the six-yard box to Flemming, who powered home unmarked from six-yards out.

It was a joy to watch, with the Clarets faithful, who packed out the away end at Molineux, enjoying every minute.

But soon after it was the home faithful who were in full voice, when referee Tony Harrington awarded the hosts a penalty, completely out of the blue.

Cullen was adjudged to have fouled Strand Larsen just inside the box – and the Wolves striker made no mistake from the spot, sending Dúbravka the wrong way to half the deficit just before half-time.

And then – soon after the fourth official confirmed five minutes of added time – Wolves drew level.

Ladislav Krejci’s acrobatic cross found Munetsi at the back, and he headed home past Dúbravka to make it 2-2.

After the helter-skelter nature of the first half, the start of the second period was far less hectic in the opening stanza.

Burnley created the first chance of note, with Flemming’s 55th minute shot easily saved by Sam Johnstone, before Cullen’s half-volley flew straight at the Wolves keeper from distance.

At the other end, Arias’ free-kick came thundering back off the bar – bouncing off Dúbravka to safety.

Both teams made changes soon after the hour, with Josh Laurent replacing Bruun Larsen, before Foster, returning from a dead leg, entered the fray at the expense of Anthony with 15 minutes to play.

Jean-Ricner Bellegarde thought he’d won it with eight minutes to go, but Dúbravka was on hand to palm away his fizzing strike – but there was still time for a winner, and it came the way of the Clarets.

Hannibal – who had just come off the bench – played a sublime through ball to Foster, who slotted home with aplomb, to make it 3-2. Cue wild scenes from all those with Claret in their blood!

Remarkably, there was still time for Santi Bueno to force Dúbravka into a stunning late save, as Burnley held out for a famous Premier League away win.
