A look back at the Sky Bet Championship season month-by-month

Jaidon Anthony's first Turf Moor goal and Josh Brownhill's eighth goal of the campaign saw the Clarets take all three points and extend their unbeaten run to nine matches with a dominant and deserved 2-1 victory over Watford at a wet and windy Turf Moor on Saturday.

Burnley started on the front foot and got their opening goal in the ninth minute, as Anthony met and slammed home Brownhill's pin-point cross into the area.

The skipper then got his own name on the scoresheet and added the Clarets' second of the afternoon to double the advantage with a lovely curled effort into the top corner.

Watford did pull a goal back from a corner in the 80th minute against the run of play, but the hosts were able to ensure the points stayed in Lancashire, with the result seeing Burnley remain undefeated at Turf Moor this season.

The Clarets started the game brightly, dominating possession, looking to unlock the Hornets’ defence and that’s exactly what they did with just nine minutes on the clock.

Brownhill latched onto a through ball and raced into the area, before crossing and picking out Anthony inside the box, with the winger finishing well under pressure with a first-time effort past Daniel Bachmann, for his first Turf Moor goal of the campaign.

Burnley had another opportunity shortly after when a loose ball fell to Josh Laurent inside the box, but the midfielder could only fire straight at Bachmann.

Parker’s side were enjoying plenty of the ball and had another chance with just over half-an-hour played, as Brownhill teed up Hannibal on the edge of the area, but the Tunisian international struck it just wide of the post.

The final chance of a one-sided first-half then saw Zian Flemming rifle an effort just over the target from an awkward angle inside the box.

The Clarets started the second-half just as they finished the first and were pushing for a second goal, with Laurent driving forward and looking to unleash an effort on target, but he was denied at the last second.

Burnley's dominance then paid off just past the hour mark, as Hannibal laid the ball off perfectly for Brownhill to pounce on and curl home an excellent strike into the top corner to double the hosts' lead.

James Trafford was then forced into action and made a terrific save to keep out Watford substitute Sierralta, as the defender latched onto a free-kick into the area.

There was an opportunity to add a third in the 70th minute, when Laurent threaded in Flemming, only for Bachmann to deny the Dutchman from range.

Watford did claw a goal back with 10 minutes left to play, as Kwadwo Baah hammered home from inside the area following a corner into the box.

Parker then made his first change of the afternoon, as Luca Koleosho replaced Hannibal, who had looked lively in the wide position for the majority of the game.

Despite the visitors pushing for a late equaliser, Burnley managed to protect the lead and their goal to ensure all three points remained at home.
