Burnley were forced to shared the spoils with Manchester United on Wednesday night, as a topsy-turvy Premier League encounter ended 2-2 at Turf Moor.

An Ayden Heaven own goal, after fine work from Bashir Humphreys handed Burnley a 1-0 lead at the break, before Benjamin Šeško's quick-fire double early in the second half put the visitors in the ascendancy.

The Clarets weren't to be denied a deserved point though, with a Jaidon Anthony wonder-goal on 66 minutes ensuring honours ended even in BB10.

Scott Parker' side started brightly on a crisp evening at Turf Moor and took a deserved lead in the 13th minute.

Humphreys played a neat one-two with Hannibal on the edge of the area, with the Tunisian midfielder threading a perfectly-weighted ball into the path of Clarets defender, whose cross towards the far-post took a deflection off the foot of Heaven and over the head of Senne Lammens into the back of the net.

Shortly after, Humphreys was then called into action at the other end of the pitch, making a terrific last-ditch goal-saving clearance, heading over Matheus Cunha’s goal-bound effort to keep the hosts ahead.

Midway through the first-half, United thought they had equalised, as Lisandro Martinez hammered home from close range following a corner - but referee Stuart Attwell ruled the effort out with a quick decision for a foul, in the build-up, on Clarets skipper Kyle Walker.

United offered little threat towards Burnley’s defence, but did open up a chance just before half-time, as Patrick Dorgu slipped in a through ball for Šeško, but the towering striker could only race through towards goal and fire straight at Dúbravka.

Just two minutes later, Dúbravka was called into action once again, this time to push over Sesko’s glancing header with a superb save.

There was time though for one final chance, as Dorgu nipped in behind and lifted the ball over Dúbravka, but another excellent goal-line clearance, this time from Maxime Estève, kept Burnley in front.

Some resilient defending and excellent goalkeeping towards the end of the first-half saw Parker’s men go into the break with a deserved half-time lead.

After ending the first-half on the front foot, the Red Devils came out pushing for an equaliser early on - and that’s what they got with five minutes played of the second period.

Bruno Fernandes threaded a through ball into the path of Šeško, who fired home with a first-time strike past Dúbravka to draw the scores level.

Fernandes then had an effort of his own a few minutes later, but his fierce strike rippled the side netting.

With the hour mark approaching, Parker made his first change of the night, as Hannibal made way for Anthony.

However, it was United who went ahead just a few minutes later, as Dorgu’s pin-point cross found Šeško inside the area, with the forward finishing with a first-time volley into the bottom corner.

But that lead only lasted six minutes, as Anthony bagged an equaliser moments after coming on, curling an effort from the edge of the box into the top corner to draw the scores level, and tee up a dramatic final 20 minutes in Lancashire.

Both sides went in search of a winner late on, with United substitute Shea Lacey going closest, firing an effort off the crossbar from range with five minutes to go.

Five minutes of added time failed to produce a winner, as honours ended even.
