Jaidon Anthony's first-half strike saw Burnley claim all three points at Ashton Gate on Saturday afternoon, as the Clarets beat Bristol City and secured their 10th clean sheet this season in the Sky Bet Championship.
Anthony fired home his second goal of the season after pouncing on Josh Brownhill's saved effort and rifling into the roof of the net, with that turning out to be the winning goal on a blustery afternoon in the West Country.
Head Coach Scott Parker named two changes to the side that beat Swansea City, as Hannibal came in for Jeremy Sarmiento in midfield and Jay Rodriguez coming into the XI for his 300th appearance in Claret & Blue, replacing Zian Flemming.

The first real opportunity of the game came with seven minutes on the clock, as former Claret Luke McNally met Anis Mehmeti’s free-kick, but the defender could only guide it wide of the target.
Mehmeti had a chance of his own minutes later when Max Bird cut it back to the forward, but the Albanian international saw his close range effort blocked for a corner.
With not much to separate the two sides, Burnley then broke the deadlock midway through the first-half, with a well-worked goal.
After receiving a fine ball from CJ Egan-Riley, Luca Koleosho broke down the left beating George Earthy, before squaring to Josh Brownhill inside the area. The midfielder’s strike was initially parried away by Max O’Leary, but only into the path of Anthony to fire home into the roof of the net.

The Clarets were dominating the majority of possession and limiting the Robins to any real chances, as Rodriguez then came close to doubling Burnley’s lead just before the break, but his header from Lucas Pires’ corner could only rattle the crossbar.
After keeping the hosts at bay when looking to spark an attack and equalise, Parker’s side went into the break with the lead.
Six minutes into the second-half, Burnley had a great opportunity to add a second of the afternoon. Brownhill used a lovely piece of skill inside the area to find space and squared across the face of goal to Koleosho. But his close-range strike was saved by O’Leary, before Hannibal’s follow-up was blocked by Dickie.
As the game reached the 74th minute mark, Parker then made his first change of the afternoon, as Sarmiento and Laurent came on for Hannibal and Koleosho. Bashir Humphreys then replaced Pires three minutes later.
Despite a flurry of crosses into the area and late pressure from City, the Clarets stood strong and resilient to ensure a 10th clean sheet of the campaign and send the Clarets’ faithful home happy.
