Clarets head to Molineux for midweek fixture

Burnley’s attention now turns to Tuesday night’s (7:30pm) visit to Molineux as the Clarets take on Wolverhampton Wanderers live on Amazon Prime.

Vincent Kompany’s side will be hoping to continue their form and momentum from the weekend’s 5-0 win into the trip to the Midlands.

The Clarets could climb out of the relegation zone on Tuesday evening with a victory and depending on surrounding results in the Premier League.

Burnley will be backed by another strong away crowd at Wolves as Kompany’s men play the first of their two league fixtures this week with a trip to Brighton to follow on Saturday.

Wolves

Boss Gary O’Neil took charge of the Club in the summer following his departure from Bournemouth and Julen Lopetegui’s exit from Molineux.

It was very much a transition period over the summer for Wanderers with plenty of transfers of ins and out across the window.

Wolves added to their squad with the signings of Tommy Doyle from Manchester City, Matheus Cunha from Atletico Madrid, Santiago Bueno arriving from Girona, Boubacar Traore joining rom FC Metz, Jean-Ricner Bellegarde from Strasbourg and the return of former full-back Matt Doherty following his departure from Atletico.

There were however a few notable departures for the Midlands side prior to the 2023/24 campaign with long-term duo Ruben Neves & Joao Moutinho and skipper Connor Coady all leaving the club.

Amongst them, midfielder Matheus Nunes joined Manchester City, former Claret Nathan Collins moved to Brentford, Raul Jimenez & Adam Traore signed for Fulham and Daniel Podence returned to Olympiacos.

O’Neil’s side currently sit midtable in 13th place and the former Middlesbrough and West Ham United midfielder has enjoyed home wins over Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur this season.

Form guide

Burnley head into Tuesday's fixture off the back of an impressive 5-0 win over Sheffield United at Turf Moor on the weekend and Kompany will be hoping his side can carry the momentum into this one.

The Clarets' last victory on the road came against Luton Town back in October but the visitors will be looking to add to that tally on Tuesday evening.

Wolves meanwhile come into this one off the back of two defeats in the league to Fulham and Arsenal and O'Neil's men have won just two home games this year, coming against Manchester City and Spurs.

Wanderers will be looking to try turn around their run of three defeats in their last four league fixtures.
