Burnley kick off their Sky Bet Championship campaign on Sunday afternoon, as Nicky Hayen's men host West Ham United at Turf Moor.

The Clarets go into the clash with the Hammers after starting the new season last weekend with a Carabao Cup win over Notts County.

West Ham head to Lancashire having beaten Portsmouth in their cup tie last week, with a goal from Jarrod Bowen and a Taty Castellanos brace sealing their win.

Sunday will be the first time the two sides have met in the Championship since 2012, when the clash ended in a 2-2 draw.

Taty Castellanos

Striker Taty Castellanos signed for the Hammers in January earlier this year, joining from Serie A side Lazio.

Castellanos scored his first goal for the London club just six days after signing, netting the winning goal in an FA Cup tie against QPR, before bagging his first Premier League goal against the Clarets in February.

The attacker went on to finish the campaign with seven goals in 22 appearances and has already got off the mark in 2026/27, after scoring twice last weekend.

Konstantinos Mavropanos

Defender Konstantinos Mavropanos arrived at the London Stadium in the summer of 2023 from VfB Stuttgart and quickly established himself within the Hammers' team.

The Greece international, who has over 40 caps for his country, has racked up more than 100 appearances for United across the last three seasons.

Despite relegation last season, Mavropanos' impressive performances throughout the campaign saw the centre-back voted 'Hammer of the Year' by the club's supporters.

Jarrod Bowen

Captain, leader, legend are the words most Hammers would use to describe Jarrod Bowen, who has been a fan favourite ever since joining the Hammers in January 2020 from Hull City.

Throughout the last six Premier League campaigns, Bowen featured in every single league fixture in three of the seasons and only missed four league matches in the other three years.

Now with over 280 matches for United and 86 goals under his belt, the skipper will be aiming to lead the Hammers back to the top flight.
