Clarets back at Turf Moor to face the Hatters

Burnley continue their Sky Bet Championship campaign on Saturday afternoon, as Scott Parker's side welcome Luton Town to Turf Moor.

The Clarets go into the weekend on a 22 match unbeaten run in the league and still remain undefeated at home all season.

Saturday will be the first time Burnley have played at home on a Saturday at 3pm since December 21st and a win over the Hatters could lift the Clarets into the automatic promotion places.

Luton head to Lancashire in 22nd place, but after picking up their first win under Matt Bloomfield last time out, the visitors will be aiming to climb out of the bottom three.

A limited amount of tickets are still available for the fixture against Luton Town and can be purchased online or in person at the ticket office.

The opposition

Luton have had an impressive rise over the last 10 years, after reaching the Premier League two seasons ago, with the Hatters playing in the Conference Premier League in 2014.

After promotion to League Two in 2014, it took the Hatters just four years to then secure promotion into League One, where an instant promotion saw them reach the Championship at the first time of asking after finishing 1st in the 2018/19 campaign.

Following three years in the Championship, Town then sealed a 3rd place finish in the 2022/23 campaign under Rob Edwards and were promoted to the Premier League at Wembley via the playoffs with a penalty shootout victory against Coventry City.

After being relegated last season from the top-flight alongside the Clarets, the Hatters have suffered a difficult campaign in the Championship and are currently sat 22nd in the league table.

In the away dugout

Manager Matt Bloomfield was appointed Hatters boss in January of this year, after the dismissal of Rob Edwards following Luton's disappointing league form.

Bloomfield, who played over 500 games for Wycombe Wanderers across a 19-year period, began his coaching career with Colchester United in September 2022.

The former midfielder spent just under six months with the U's, before returning to Wycombe and being appointed manager of the League One side in February 2023.

Bloomfield had a fantastic first-half of the current campaign in charge of the Chairboys which saw Wanderers in the automatic promotion places, before leaving in January of this year to join Luton Town.
