Scott Parker's side begin the new year with a visit to Brighton & Hove Albion this weekend, as the Clarets take on the Seagulls in the Premier League at the Amex.

Burnley head to the South coast aiming to bounce back from Tuesday night's defeat to Newcastle, after picking up points in the previous two outings before then against Bournemouth and Everton.

The Clarets sit 19th in the league table, six points off Nottingham Forest in 17th and victory for Parker's men this weekend in East Sussex could close that gap once again.

Saturday's opponents Brighton currently occupy 14th place in the table and are winless in their previous six league fixtures, with their last home win coming in November.

The opposition

The Seagulls are into their ninth consecutive campaign in the top-flight, after being promoted in 2017, but it's been a mixed season for the Albion so far.

They currently sit 14th in the Premier League table, after a bright start saw wins over both Manchester City and Chelsea and a draw with Spurs in the opening two months of the season.

Across October and November, the Albion's impressive form continued, as Fabian Hürzeler's men went on to record four wins against Newcastle, Leeds, Brentford and Forest in their seven league games, with their only league defeat across the two months coming at Old Trafford.

However, that 2-0 win at Forest at the end of November was the last time the Seagulls picked up three points, after a 4-3 defeat to Villa at the beginning of last month was followed by a 1-1 draw with West Ham.

A trip to Anfield then saw Brighton edged out in another loss, before draws against Sunderland and the Hammers again either side of a defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates concluded 2025.
