Defender looks ahead to Wednesday night meeting with Rotherham

Ian Maatsen is relishing a third consecutive match at Turf Moor on Wednesday, as Vincent Kompany's side host Rotherham United.

The Clarets have won their last two games, both at home, and Maatsen is hoping for more of the same against the Millers.

Ahead of the game, the Dutch full-back talked about the atmosphere at Turf, enjoying the busy fixture schedule and what to expect from Matt Taylor's side.

Maatsen on playing at Turf Moor:

"It's always a really good atmosphere, the fans are always behind us, they are great. Singing our names loud, making lots of noise, they just give us that extra boost going forward.

"It helps us all and it works for us, so we are looking forward to playing there again on Wednesday."

Maatsen on last weekend's win over Reading:

"I think it was coming, we were patient, and it came late at the end. We moved the ball from side to side, looking for a way to break through. Then we opened them up and found the late winner and Turf Moor just went crazy! It was so loud; it was a really nice experience and we all really enjoyed it, it was special."

Maatsen on the busy fixture schedule:

"That's what this league is all about, that's what we are here to do. You want to play as much as possible, so it's good to have a game every four days. There is no time to waste if you play bad or good, we just have to rest and recover then get ready for the next one. All the focus is on Wednesday now against Rotherham."

Maatsen on Rotherham:

"It's another different test for us, I've never actually played against them, so it's new for me. They will be tough opponents, they got promoted last season, so they will have talent for sure. They are in this league for a reason, so they will have quality within the side, but we just have to stick to our game plan."
