16 Clarets players are currently out on season-long loan deals across nine leagues and three countries, including the Premier League, Vanarama National League North & Belgian Pro League.
That tally includes nine players from the academy here at the Club, with goalkeeper Sam Waller approaching the end of a successful season with Lancaster City. Elsewhere, at senior level, Luke McNally kept a clean sheet to push Coventry City up into the Sky Bet Championship’s top six.
Here’s a round-up of how the last eight loanees, in alphabetical order, have fared over the last week. Make sure to read ‘Loan Watch: Part One to keep up to date with how the other eight fared.
Lukas Jensen (Accrington Stanley)
Danishman Jensen is battling relegation in Sky Bet League One with Stanley, though Saturday’s 5-2 defeat at home to Fleetwood Town didn’t help that cause.

Stanley are now two points off safety in the bottom four at the time of writing, and have five games left to get themselves above the all-important dotted line. Tomorrow night sees a clash of the Clarets goalkeepers at the Wham Stadium as Will Norris visits with Peterborough United.

Luke McNally (Coventry City)
Mentioned above, McNally helped Coventry to a shutout on Saturday as they won 3-0 in the capital at Queens Park Rangers to move into 7th in the standings at the time of writing.
Blackburn Rovers are next up on Wednesday evening in a mammoth game at Ewood Park with the hosts currently 6th, directly above the Sky Blues by just a one-point margin. McNally has played every minute for City since joining in January.

Matt Lowton (Huddersfield Town) 
At the other end of the table, Lowton has been battling the drop with Huddersfield, who are now have their fate in their own hands with four to play.

Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at Swansea City, in which Lowton was an unused substitute, was a first defeat in six for the Terriers. They’re above the relegation zone by a point at the time of writing, with Cardiff City below having a game in hand, and the pair meet in South Wales this Sunday.

Michael Mellon (Morecambe)
Striker Mellon isn’t involved in Morecambe’s squads at the minute due to injury. Like Jensen and Stanley, the Shrimps are battling relegation in Sky Bet League One.
Boosting their chances of survival on Saturday, they beat play-off chasing Wycombe Wanderers 1-0 at the Mazuma Stadium with a late goal, a first win in 11. It leaves Derek Adams’ side two points off safety with three to play, though they have played more than anyone else involved in the battle at the bottom.

Owen Dodgson (Rochdale)
For the first time since joining in January, full-back Dodgson missed a Dale game through injury on Saturday as they lost out 3-0 to Bradford City on Saturday at the Crown Oil Arena.

He could be back in contention for a double-header of games this week, with the Greater Manchester outfit currently eight points adrift at the bottom of Sky Bet League Two.

Sam Waller (Lancaster City)
Waller hasn’t missed a minute for Lancaster since joining them back in October, and this weekend coming he’ll play his last game for them as their campaign in the Northern Premier League’s Premier Division comes to an end.
Last Saturday saw the Dolly Blues – who are all set for a mid-table finish – claim all three points with a 4-2 win away at Ashton United, their first win in five, courtesy of a hat-trick from Charlie Bailey.

Will Norris (Peterborough United) 
In Sky Bet League One, fellow shot stopper Norris is hoping to make it a memorable season with promotion-chasing Peterborough.
He’s played every minute since joining in January, including a 2-0 defeat at Cambridge United on Saturday. That was only the Posh’s third loss in 13 games, and first in seven.

They’re clinging onto a play-off spot at the time of writing, sat 6th, one point above Derby County in 7th. Both teams have four games remaining.

Wout Weghorst (Manchester United)
Forward Weghorst had half-an-hour & 20 minute cameos for United on Thursday night & Sunday afternoon respectively. First appearing in a 2-2 draw with Sevilla at Old Trafford in the UEFA Europa League quarter-final, he then came off the bench in a 2-0 Premier League win at Nottingham Forest.
This week is a big one both on the continent and domestically for the Red Devils as they head to Spain for the second leg of that quarter-final, looking to reach the last-four, before returning back to action in England at Wembley for an Emirates FA Cup semi-final against Brighton & Hove Albion.
