Michael Mellon says he is 'loving' his time in Dundee on and off the pitch, as the forward spends the second half of the season loan with Burnley's strategic partner club in the SPL.
The young striker, who is son of former Claret Micky, was on loan with League Two side Morecambe until January, before moving north of the border in the winter transfer window but the 20-year-old has settled into life just fine
The Scotland U21 international revealed how life has been since joining the ‘Dee’ and what him & his dog get up to after training!
Mellon said: “I love Dundee to be fair. The area is brilliant, I've got a nice little flat where I live with my dog. We go to the beach every day after training.
“Really enjoying the area to be honest, it’s like home away from home as I have a lot of family up here too. My nan and my auntie live up here, so it’s been dead easy to settle in.
“I have been up here before from when my dad was up here, so I do know the area quite well and a lot of his old friends will hopefully take me on the golf courses round here when it warms up too!
“I am really enjoying the life up here, the dog seems happy and I am getting to see family too that I don’t see that often when back home."

Mellon is not the only Claret currently on loan with Dundee, as fellow U21 teammates Owen Dodgson and Dara Costelloe also signed for the SPL side in January.
The forward admits it has been ‘helpful’ having familiar faces around him, alongside his family and discussed what the trio get up to away from the football side of the loan moves.
“It’s really helpful having them two here, I did know a couple of lads already from the Scotland set-up that I have met already.
“But with Owen and Dara here, it’s boys that I know from back home, and I have known for a long time as well.
“We go to the driving range, play a bit of darts together and even watch the darts on a Thursday night. We watched a bit of Cheltenham last week too! Said Mellon.

Mellon spent time with Morecambe last season and the first half of this campaign in the EFL, but the youngster is relishing the experience of the Scottish top-flight and enjoying the challenges that come with it, following what has been successful season so far for the striker.
“It’s a really good experience for me. It’s a different style of football to League Two, different players and I feel like I’m learning a lot every day.
“It’s a great changing room to be a part of so I feel like it’s good development for me and although I’ve not played every game, I’m learning every day here.”
Mellon added: “I think I’ve had a really good season personally. I’ve got 17 goals and a few assists; I feel like I’ve developed on and off the pitch.
“I think I’ll be returning to Burnley a different player to last summer and these loan experiences have really helped me a lot and I think that’s been reflected in my goals.”
