Manager Vincent Kompany says he 'loves the busy Christmas period of football fixtures but wants his side to 'make the most of it as the Clarets prepare for three games in seven days.
Burnley travel to Fulham on the weekend, before hosting Liverpool on Boxing Day and concluding the festive period with a trip to Villa Park on Saturday 30th.
Speaking to the media on Thursday, Kompany discussed his thoughts and highlighted the significance of the busy programme of football and reflected on his past experience of being a player over Christmas.
"I love it, because it doesn’t make sense! The romance of English football, but it’s appreciated by everyone. It's a special period of the year.
"You're in a different mindset. You are tested physically and mentally and it can be tough over the Christmas schedule but I do enjoy it.
"I'm fine with it (going to Fulham two days before Christmas) and I wouldn't allow the team to complain about it either, it's part of the schedule and everyone has it.
"It won't' be easy at all and it's a tough fixture list, but you want to make use of these type of periods to try get results where you might not get results in a normal time of the season and that’s the mentality we need."

Kompany smiled: "I remember playing Swansea City away on New Year's Eve years ago with a 12:30 kick off the next day and I think it was a hotel hosting everything that night.
"I get it, it's all part of the fun. You have the extra pressure of having family around and travelling to your house for a week.
"It's always a special time of year and period of football and I can pick the best case scenario and the worst game scenario but my goal will still be that our team can win a lot of games after this period."
The Clarets take on Fulham at Craven Cottage and Kompany is well aware of the danger Marco Silva's side will pose this weekend and had high praise for Fulham's 'successful model'.
"They're a strong side. They have a good profile of players. It's a good looking squad, a lot of the players aged between 26-30 and ready for this league with their past experience.
"There's a lot of cohesion. They have been down and back up and come up stronger and definitely deserve a mention for what they have done over the years.
"Similar to the Brighton's and Brentford's, built over a period and it's a successful model and Fulham are now one of them clubs."

Saturday will see referee Rebecca Welch make history and become the first female to referee a Premier League match after becoming the first female fourth official in the top-flight in November.
Kompany explained: "I think it’s a benchmark. It’s a milestone and she (Rebecca) will take great pride in it and women in general and in the game will see this as a way to achieve at the highest level.
"It's not always what it means for the person but for people behind that think it might not be possible. They can look at it and think I could be the next one.
"It's opportunities and dreams for the next person in line. It deserves the credit it's got for sure."
