Manager Vincent Kompany gave his side plenty of praise following Burnley's 1-0 win against Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup second round.
The Clarets booked their place in the next round of the competition through Zeki Amdouni's first goal for the Club coming in the 91st minute in Nottingham.
Speaking post-match, Kompany applauded his team's performance on and off the ball against Steve Cooper's men and hailed the goal threat his side are beginning to show.
The Burnley boss said: "In general I was very pleased with our performance overall on and off the ball. I felt we were decent in the duels, the second balls and challenges in the middle.
"We caused damage with the press and getting at them and in their faces. On the ball we always have a chance and we looked a threat at times.
"I thought we approached it on the front foot and I can feel the real potential of goal threat within the squad. I don't know how long it will take to but the goals will start coming.
"Some of the lads might not be the biggest players out there but they stay positive on their feet and stand strong with the ball.
"I hope Zeki's (Amdouni) goal is the first of many for him and it's exciting for him to get off the mark tonight."
Kompany added: "We made changes and so did Forest. Premier League teams with large squads it not really weakening any sides at all as there's a lot of good players.
"Forest had four of their main attacking players on the bench and all came on but I thought we didn't look any less or different across the pitch despite the changes."
The only dampener on the Clarets' night was that three players all had to be replaced through injury and Kompany gave his thoughts on the trio's departures.
"One of them (Ekdal) I think will be bad to be honest. I will take any positive news on Ekdal's injury and I really hope it's not too bad for him.
"I think he was in a lot of pain and I'm not a doctor but sometimes a lot of pain can actually be a good sign rather than the ones that are actually worse but don't feel it at the time.
"In terms of Vitinho, he looked to have hurt his knee and again I hope that's not too bad as well.
"It seemed to be one of those nights, Ramsey having to come off but I don’t think we backed down once, we were getting stuck into tackles and showing heart and that’s who we are as a team."
