Manager Vincent Kompany had high praise for his team after a 4-1 win at Bramall Lane and described his attacking threat as 'prolific and dangerous' in front of goal.
The Clarets scored twice in a three minute spell just before half time through Jacob Bruun Larsen and Lorenz Assignon.
United's Gustavo Hamer pulled a goal back for the Blades ten minutes into the second half but strikes from Lyle Foster and Johann Berg Gudmundsson put the game out of reach for the hosts.
Speaking post-match, Kompany reflected on Burnley's impressive display and highlighted how his men 'progressed and got stronger' as the game went on.
"We played really well today, scored some really good goals, created chances and that's a big positive for us. They had a few chances early on and they’re a really tough opponent. We saw that last season.
"I was really pleased with the attacking phases, I think in other games we have lacked a little bit of quality in the final third and in front of goal but today we were prolific and dangerous.
"We needed a couple of saves from Aro (Muric) but I think as the game went on, we progressed and we got stronger.
"We know the importance of games like today and there's a lot riding on them but I thought we handled it really well and I'm pleased for all the lads."
Kompany added: "To be honest, I haven’t really looked at the table or other results yet. It’s all about our own performance and getting our win today.
"Hopefully we can continue the momentum into these last four games and continue to believe - like we have done all season."
Goalkeeper Aro Muric made a string of fantastic saves throughout the match and Kompany applauded the Kosovan’s performance.
“It depends how you handle it. From my side, I expect my players to go through tough times whether that be a goalkeeper, defender or striker.
“It’s just the nature for us and what we’re up against but we have a really talented group and they are always looking forward to the next game and he was excellent today.
“We have a luxury of two top quality goalkeepers and they have both been really good for us over the season.”
