MATCH PREVIEW: MANCHESTER UNITED V BURNLEY - Image 4

Manager Vincent Kompany admits although there is natural disappointment following defeat to Bournemouth, the Burnley boss insists ‘full attention and focus’ is instantly put towards the next game.

The Clarets travel to West Ham on Sunday afternoon and Kompany was pleased with his side’s response & performance against the Cherries last week and says ‘results do come from this type of showing’s’ ahead of the trip to London.

Speaking to the media on Friday, Kompany explained: “The way we are here, we always keep going. The toughest moment is after a game you have lost but then you have to look at how we prepare for the next game.

“It requires full attention and focus but that’s the most important thing. It’s not an easy ride, but for us to keep consistency and turn positive performances into results.

“I get that if you look at recent results like Arsenal and Palace it paints a different picture, but we played really well against Bournemouth and it’s about carrying that on.

“We were aggressive in duels all over the pitch, put tackles, attacked the goal and results do come from these types of showings.”

Ahead of Sunday’s meeting with the Hammers, Kompany hailed the work manager David Moyes has done during his time with the Irons.

The Clarets boss praised the Scotsman’s achievements and highlighted a moment of Moyes’ managerial career that ‘helped’ Manchester City win the league back in 2012.

“I think David Moyes has always done well. Over the years he has had some really good teams.

“You look at when he was at Everton with the big team of Fellaini, Cahill and those guys and I remember having some tough games against them.

“In fact, one of his games actually helped us (City) win the league when they drew 4-4 at Old Trafford.

“I know how much hard work he puts in and I think he gets underestimated sometimes. He won the European trophy last season and he’s done a fantastic job over the years as a manager.”
