Manager Vincent Kompany says Sunday's meeting with Nottingham Forest is Burnley's 'first game of next season' as the Clarets look to end the 2023/24 campaign on a high despite suffering relegation last weekend.
The Clarets host Forest at Turf Moor in the final game of the Premier League campaign, but Kompany urges his side to treat it like no other and that 'winning the game is priority' for his men.
Speaking to the media on Friday afternoon, the Burnley boss said: "We will go all out, definitely. If we are treating this as the first game of next season, in terms of preparing for that season then this is an important game and we have to go all out.
"The main thing for us is winning the game and that's our priority. There are a couple of a personal stories attached to the game because some players might be playing their last game and we want to be conscious of that too.
"But the intention to do everything we can to win this game is so important, we have to give the team a chance to do that, so that also has to be reflected in the team selection.
"It will be a test for us against a good side, who will also want to finish strong but our main aim is to try take all three points at home in front of the fans."

When questioned about how Kompany puts aside last weekend's relegation, the Clarets chief said: “I already have done. It’s done. I get it, but I didn’t walk into Burnley when Burnley was a Premier League team, Burnley was a Championship team.
“The main thing for me is to make sure the things we have done well and the things that we have learned over the last couple of years are absolutely part of either the decisions we make or the way we operate and behave next year.
“That’s for everything in life though. The biggest thing about failure is that it allows you to draw a line. After that comes success and that’s the way it works. That’s the way I’ve experienced it all of my life and it’s valuable.
“You only really fail if you fail to learn and that’s not the case for us. We have absolutely learned and there’s no lack of motivation or lack of desire.
“It’s sometimes in human nature to sulk and feel sorry for yourself, but I don’t think it’s in the culture here. It’s not in my nature or in many people here. We try to give it to the players as well.
“Ultimately it’s what is going to give them a chance to achieve their goals, we can never forget that.”
