Burnley boss believes Swansea will prove a different challenge but is looking forward to being back on home turf

The Clarets' win against Coventry at the weekend saw the unbeaten run extended to 11 games, the highest record in the EFL.

Burnley welcome Swansea City to Turf Moor on Saturday afternoon, with the Swans currently only a point behind the home side.

Manager Vincent Kompany has been speaking to the media ahead of the contest, discussing squad depth, using his time wisely since last weekend's away win and the importance of keeping the momentum going.

Kompany on the Clarets unbeaten run:

“We’re looking forward now to the next game, we did what we had to do against Coventry. It’s another home game, something that we’re always looking forward to.

“I think the reason that we’re unbeaten for a long time is that we always want to win the game and it doesn’t always work but if you’re close, then you’re still not losing. For us it’s about getting as many points on the board as we can and we’re really looking forward to this game on Saturday.

Kompany on the Coventry win:

"It’s like with everything, if you stay calm, keep your head down and work hard then you always progress. I think we did that; I don’t think we panicked, and, in the end, we’ve probably always been and it’s important to me, we’ve always been a team that deserves more. If that’s a trend, then it’s not a bad trend because eventually it turns but you’ve got to stay that team, it’s really important.”

Kompany on player rotation:

“Aro, it’s good and we’re happy to have Westy back in training. We won’t rush him it’s a lot of time still before he’s ready and available for the first team but so far, we’re happy with the status of the team. We have competition and healthy, hungry players.

“It’s an important concept for me to trust the players that we have, so I don’t really loose sleep over any type of combination I need to put out. The players that we have, I see in training; I see enough in training to know that they deserve it. I look at habits, how they behave around the training ground, around the team and if they do the work right. I know we’ve got the right talent, then when the chance is there, they are going to perform.”

Kompany on the week’s break since Coventry:

“We used a couple of days to recharge the batteries and prepare for the next period of games which is going to be full on. Then I think we used this week the same way as we did at the beginning of the season, just re-energise as well, but go full, bring the intensity back up and try and work on things that we’ve been wanting to improve for a bit. We’ve made use of this week how we’ve wanted to do that.”

Kompany on Swansea:

“First of all, you can see how quickly a run of games can actually change things. If you think four games ago and look back at the table then. I think it gives you momentum and like everything they’ll be looking to try and keep that momentum going. For us it’s about rebuilding our momentum again and it’s a team that obviously brings a different challenge to other teams in this league. I’m really looking forward to this game.

“We really try and make the best out of every game we play at home. It’s an interesting one for many perspectives because I think what they do is quite clear, and it’s also embedded into the club and what they’ve been doing for many years, but we want to go over it and we really want to have an impact in this game. I’m looking forward to it because it poses so many challenges, it’s probably a little bit more difficult to predict. I always speak about the storyline of the game, I think that this one is more difficult to predict and that makes it maybe more interesting as well.”
