Burnley Football Club are pleased to announce the signing of Jiaming Zhang, who joins our U21s squad ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The striker has penned a contract that runs until the summer of 2027 and moves to Lancashire to continue his development.
After putting pen to paper at Burnley Training Centre, he said: “I like this club.
“I’ve played in Serbia for the last six months, and I think that playing in Europe is quite challenging.
“I wouldn’t say I’m a traditional kind of striker. I like to be flexible and move around the pitch, coming back to help defend as well as organising the team’s attacks going forwards.
“I spoke to the coaches when I was on trial, mainly around tactics and how the league works here.
“Hopefully, I can play during the pre-season period and continue to learn the game.”

At 19 years old the forward has a fair amount of senior experience to his name with Liaoning Tieren in the Chinese second tier.
After making his debut as a 16-year-old in October 2023, his first two senior goals came in a Chinese FA Cup tie in May 2024.
After totalling six goals in 28 appearances, Zhang was invited by Bayern Munich to be a part of their World Squad Initiative in June 2025.
Then came a spell at Serbian outfit FK Voždovac, in which he netted three goals in four appearances for their U19s.
Zhang also earned his first China U20s cap earlier this year, coming on as a half-time substitute in a friendly against Australia in front of more than 6,000 supporters.
He will now ply his trade under U21s staff Andy Farrell and Charlie Adam, with the team set to compete at Premier League 2 level once more in 2026/27.
