Burnley FC Women are pleased to confirm the addition of Jay Bradford as Assistant Coach.
Bradford, who also takes on the role of Women's U23s lead, is highly experienced having previously spent over seven years with Coventry United Ladies, six of those as manager.
In charge for over 150 matches at Coventry, Bradford oversaw two county cup wins alongside a Premier Division Plate success, and a promotion into the Women’s Championship.
She also guided ‘The Red and Greens’ to safety in the second-tier on three occasions, the last of which a memorable great escape on the last day of the 2021/22 campaign following the Club entering liquidation and being deducted 10 points mid-season.
Departing Butts Park Arena back in May, Bradford – who has also coached in the youth department at New York Red Bulls – has worked alongside Morgan & the Claret Women for the last few months.
Now, upon officially joining the Club, she said: “I’m super happy to be joining Burnley, a Club with a highly talented women’s squad and one that has big ambitions both on & off the pitch.
“The girls have all been really welcoming in my time here so far, and have been really receptive of everything we’ve put across to them as staff.
“I’m now looking forward to continuing and contributing to the great work that’s being done here, both at senior level and the U23s too which I’ll be heading up.”
Head Coach Jonathan Morgan added: “Jay is someone I’ve known years, and I’m delighted to have her on board here at Burnley.
“I’ve been in the opposite dugout to her for many years and formed a really good relationship through that.
“She’s someone who has already come in and hit the ground running because she understands both the managing and coaching aspects of the game.
“I think her appointment also shows the ambition at this Club to attract experienced coaches who’ve had good success in the game.”
