Interim Head Coach looks ahead to Emirates trip

Interim Head Coach Mike Jackson is hoping the Clarets can end the 2025/26 campaign on a high with a positive performance and result against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Turf Moor on Sunday afternoon.

Ahead of taking on Wolves in the final game of the season, Jackson spoke to the media where he highlighted the importance of finishing strongly, taking on the challenge of Wolves and the Clarets heading to this summer's World Cup.

FULL FOCUS ON A POSITIVE ENDING

"We can't change what has happened this season, but we can affect how we leave it and I think that's the biggest thing for us going into this game on Sunday.

"Nobody wants to finish bottom of the league and that's our full focus. Getting a result for the fans and giving them a performance to be proud of."

TEAM SELECTION

"I want us to follow on from what we have done in the last two games. We got a point against Villa and created a number of chances, then competed well against Arsenal on Monday.

"So, we need to keep that same energy going into this game. It's hard leaving players out of the team and everyone wants to play, but we will look at the team for Sunday closer to the game this weekend."

WORLD CUP CLARETS

"It's a great opportunity for those lads going out there and representing their countries and one of the first things I spoke to them about before the last few games, was to say 'make sure you're ready and in the best possible shape and form going into the World Cup'.

"So, it's important for everyone to finish the season strong and in good shape, fitness and form, so they're ready to go come June."
