Mike Jackson spoke to the media at the full-time whistle following Burnley's defeat to table-toppers Arsenal on Monday night.
Jackson was 'proud' of his players, despite the Clarets going down to a 1-0 defeat at the Emirates Stadium.
CREDIT TO THE LADS
“Huge credit to the lads.
“We’ve lost the game but I’ve just said to the group there that I’m proud of them.
“It’s a real credit to them for sticking to the plan and staying in the game.
“We were playing against a top side but I felt we created doubt in the stadium.
“We could’ve dropped our heads after relegation but what we showed tonight and against Villa pleased me."
SET PIECE GOAL
“We got done on a set-piece.
“They’re the best in the world at them.
“You’ve got to give Arsenal credit for doing what they do at set-pieces.
“We’ll watch it back and see what we could have done better."
BIG DECISION
“At the time I didn’t see much in it (Havertz's challenge on Ugochukwu).
“But I’ve watched it back and I think it’s a red card based on how the game is refereed these days.
“It’s not a good tackle. It’s dangerous and it could have injured him.
“That decision could have given us extra impetus, so it’s disappointing.
“It could have made a real difference 11 versus 10."
