England U21s captain Taylor Harwood-Bellis has his eyes set on the EURO 2023 Championships next summer, but insists focus remains on the season ahead with the Clarets.
The centre-back spoke to the media on Tuesday afternoon at St Georges Park, looking ahead to the pair of September friendlies, focusing on the EURO's and the season so far with the Clarets.
Harwood-Bellis on the upcoming friendlies with Italy and Germany:
"The manager said we want to test ourselves against the best and see how we perform against the best sides.
"That's what we have got in Italy and Germany, two really difficult games against very good opponents.
"Whether it's a friendly or not, we want to win every game and that's what we will be looking to do."
Harwood-Bellis on the U21s EURO 2023 Championships next summer:
"The main focus for us all, is obviously with our clubs first of all.
"It will naturally always be in the back of our minds, that we are preparing for the EURO's next summer.
"But for us it's just focusing on the games we have now, then playing as many games as we can and having a strong season with our clubs."

Harwood-Bellis on heading into the EURO's off the back of a busy season:
"I think it will benefit us to be honest, coming off the back of a lot of matches.
"For me personally, I would rather come into the tournament off the back of plenty of games, than a break."
Harwood-Bellis on the season so far with the Clarets:
"The competitiveness of the league now is so high, it's a really tough division.
"Every team you play against are really difficult, but we have had a good start overall.
"There's games where we thought we could have maybe won, that we have drawn.
"But we are happy where we are in the league, we just need to keep pushing on."
