Defender looks ahead to Friday night's trip to bet365 Stadium

Taylor Harwood-Bellis is hoping the Clarets can end the year on a high, as Burnley travel to Stoke City on Friday evening in the Sky Bet Championship searching for a fifth consecutive victory in the league.

The centre-back spent the second half of last season on loan with the Potters and admits it was an enjoyable experience, but the 20-year-old only has three points on his mind going into a busy few days for Vincent Kompany's side.

Harwood-Bellis said: “I’m looking forward to it, going back to where I played the last six months of last season, I really enjoyed my time there.

“I met some great people there and had a good experience, but the only thing on my mind going back will be going to get the three points.

“I've enjoyed this busy festive period; I want to play as many games as possible and I’m sure others in the team would say the same too.

“I think that’s been noticed how we have been performing, starting well and not cutting any corners in this period.

"So, we'll be hoping to carry that through with us into these next couple of games and coming away with positive results."

The Clarets come into this meeting with City off the back of four straight wins in the Championship and only one defeat in 21 matches.

And Harwood-Bellis believes that the work rate and mentality shown in training every day is proving to be successful.

“We always say no rollercoasters, when we win it’s not too high and when we lose it’s not too low.

“It’s not a coincidence that we have been doing well, we work hard every day, have that winning mentality within the group and all have the same goal.

“That then leads into the game from training and you can see it, the togetherness is there and it shows."

There will be another sell-out away end at the bet365 on Friday and speaking ahead of the game, Harwood-Bellis had plenty of praise for the Clarets faithful.

“They help us out, we really appreciate their support and there is a real connection between us.

“I enjoy playing in front of them every week, you can always hear them and even when we may have our backs against the walls, you feel them behind you."
