Anna Grey says she and her Burnley Women teammates are looking forward to their first Northern Premier Division of the Women’s National League game in just over a month this weekend.
The Clarets travel to the Midlands to take on Sporting Khalsa, with their last league match being October’s 2-0 home victory over Derby County.
Rebecca Sawiuk’s side have since competed in the FA Women’s National League Cup and the Adobe Women’s FA Cup.
Grey played a key role in last week’s 12-0 victory over Spennymoor Town, coming off the bench to score a brace and claim two assists at the County Ground in Leyland.
“We’re excited to get back to the league as that’s our main focus,” she said.
“The manager’s message when I came on was to carry on what we’d already done because we’d started the game really well with good consistency and momentum.
"It was really pleasing to get two goals and assists and hopefully that can continue, as being in the right areas in the box is something we’ve been working on.”

Sawiuk rotated her squad for the FA Cup tie against the Moors, with Aimee Kelly taking Grey’s place on the left and scoring five goals.
“Our squad depth is amazing here,” Grey continued.
“No matter what the starting 11 is, we’re confident we can score goals and win games.
“That’s a positive for the team.”
Sunday’s opponents Sporting Khalsa are fighting at the other end of the table to the Clarets having taken three points from their nine matches to date.
All three of those came from a 4-0 victory over Hull City in their last home match at the Guardian Warehousing Arena, where the Clarets visit this weekend.
Moreover, the Walsall-based team have momentum from a big Adobe Women’s FA Cup victory over Notts County last week.
Grey continued: “Sporting Khalsa are a good side and we respect every opponent.
“We’re expecting a high energy team and we’re going to try and match that in order to try and get the three points.”
Tickets can be purchased from the Guardian Warehousing Arena (WV13 3BB) on the day. Adults are priced at £6, while U16s go free with a paying adult.
If you can’t be there in person, live updates will be shared on our dedicated women’s social media channels and a match report will follow the final whistle on www.burnleyfootballclub.com.
