Burnley FC in the Community put on an evening with three legends of the game

Friday 30th June will see Burnley FC in the Community host ‘Turf Talk Live’ at Turf Moor with Ross Wallace, Dean Marney & Charlie Adam all in attendance!

Taking place in the Clearly Interiors Lounge from 6.30pm, the evening will be hosted by comedy compere – and all-round funny man – Billy Wheadon.

An evening full of fun entertainment will feature a Q&A with the three former players mentioned above, who amassed over 1400 career appearances between them, over 300 of those in the Premier League.

Former winger Wallace, who enjoyed a promotion to the Premier League with the Clarets during his playing days, is now the U18s assistant manager here at the Club.

He and Adam, who this season joined Burnley as a Professional Development Phase Coach & Loans manager, both represented Scotland internationally. Adam won the Carling Cup while at Liverpool as a player, and faced Burnley five times over the course of his own career.

And Marney, an England youth international, also secured a Sky Bet Championship title during his time at Turf Moor. Making 221 appearances for the Clarets across an eight-year spell, the ex-midfielder netted 10 times, including winners against Portsmouth and former club Hull City.

Alongside the Q&A with the trio, ‘Turf Talk Live’ will see all attendees get a three-course meal, and there’ll be both a raffle & an auction to take part in, so it’s an evening you won’t want to miss.

All proceeds will go towards supporting Burnley FC in the Community’s programmes. These include Veterans, Schools Mental Wellbeing Project, and the No Nay Never Forget Dementia Group.

Burnley FC in the Community’s Head of Partnerships & Fundraising, Ben Bottomley, said: “We hope that the event will help us to raise much needed funds to support our community projects across East Lancashire.

“It’s especially vital in these times of economic uncertainty for so many, when demand for our support in these projects is only going to increase.

“This event is one that we’re all really looking forward to, and for those that come, it’s going to be a really enjoyable evening in the company of some great people.”
