Forward talks getting ready for Premier League return

Clarets front-man Lyle Foster insists he and his team-mates aren't getting too far ahead of themselves, despite the countdown to the start of the 2025/26 Premier League season going below the one-month mark!

Wednesday marked the 'one month to go' marker, with Scott Parker's men heading to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - the home of Thomas Frank's Spurs side - on the opening day of the season on August 16th.

And whilst Foster is relishing the Clarets return to the top-flight of English football, he knows there's still a lot of hard work coming up before the trip to North London on matchday one of the new campaign.

"We're taking it day by day, week by week, but of course we're all looking forward to it starting up again," said Foster.

"The most important thing is that we're ready - and we're all looking forward to the final month before we go to Tottenham on the opening day."

Foster was speaking in the wake of another intense session in the Portuguese sunshine in Quinta do Lago - and despite temperatures in the early 30's, the striker is enjoying every minute of the Clarets' training camp in the Algarve.

"We're working hard, it's tough going, but it's good to break a sweat and get prepared for the start of the season," he said.

"They're all tough sessions, there's been a real intensity to everything we've done since we arrived out here in Portugal.

"The heat is a factor, it adds to the intensity. It's hot, you're sweating, you're gasping for air, but we know this is what pre-season is all about.

"We're taking on loads of cold water at the right times, so we're well equipped to deal with it.

"It's what's needed to stand us in good stead for when we return to England next week."

He added: "It's been a good few weeks since we returned.

"We've got a good foundation in place and we're in a spot where we're starting to hit the right levels with our work."

The Clarets have added six new names to their squad so far in the summer transfer window - and Foster beams when he starts talking about the recent additions to the Clarets squad, commenting: "It's been great to meet the new players.

"We're lucky here that we've got a great group, so I'm sure they've found their time with us easy in terms of settling in.

"We're spending a lot of time together, to get to know each other - that's what pre-season is about too, bonding together as a group, as well as working hard in our preparation."
