Zian Flemming enjoyed a positive Clarets debut as Scott Parker's men picked up three points at Elland Road.
The 26-year-old, who signed for Burnley on deadline day, spoke after the game of the importance of securing three points in what he described as ‘one of the toughest games of the season' against the Yorkshire side.
“Those games need to have a bit of everything, this is not one that you’re just going to turn up and win. Obviously, Elland Road, Leeds, it’s one of the toughest, if not the toughest games of the season and we’ve done it!”
A first half Luca Koleosho goal separated the two sides on the day, however a strong home side ensured the visitors had to do plenty of defending throughout.
“The first half we scored the goal; I think we had more chances to score another one even. We looked a threat in the first half and the second half we got pushed back a little bit more, it was more defending. Overall, Traff made a few good saves, but still I didn’t have the feeling that they had massive chances. They had maybe the one that was offside. Even though they were building pressure on us and giving us a tough time, I think our final third was outstanding.”

Whilst delighted with the result, the forward was also pleased to make his debut for his new side.
“Yeah definitely [it's a special feeling]. I just joined in a hysterical 36 hours I think it was. I’ve had two weeks with the team in training, enjoyed it, I’ve enjoyed making this step and obviously if you can start in the first game, especially after two weeks of training, you’re just happy that you can get going.”
Finally, after a busy summer transfer window, how's the feeling in the squad now that the window has closed?
“I think it’s a good group of lads, especially if you think that the group is quite new because there’s been a lot of turnaround in players. It feels like a team already. I know it’s easy to say that if you win 1-0 away at Leeds! But at the same time if we hadn’t played as a team out there, we would never have got this result. So, it’s good but it’s also the beginning of the season and this just has to be our standard every time.”
