Zian Flemming admits he and his team-mates are ready to 'fight for their lives' against Crystal Palace on Wednesday night.

The Clarets front-man, with four goals to his name so far this season, is determined to return to winning ways at Turf Moor in midweek match-round 14, as Scott Parker's men look to end a four-game losing sequence in the Premier League.

"We've got mixed feelings at the moment," said Flemming.

"We made a decent start to the season, beating those teams we perhaps envisaged being around us, playing well and picking up some good results.

"We were disappointed with how things played out at West Ham - the game was in our hands, we let that one slip - and Brentford last weekend, we again felt we could have got more out of it.

"But it's a long season, we're taking it game by game, and we're determined to pick up some positive results."

Flemming believes 'sticking together' - something Parker spoke about post-match at Brentford on Saturday - will stand the Clarets in good stead for the final two-thirds of the season that await.

"We're a calm group, naturally - that comes from the manager," he said.

"It's important to stay resilient and strong mentally, as we progress through the season.

"We know the quality is here, and the principles and foundations are in place - we just need to stick together, keep pulling in the same direction and fight for our lives together.

"That's the message from the manager, we're all on the same page - it's a challenge we need to embrace.

"It's up to us to get things right, starting against Crystal Palace tomorrow night."

Palace head to Turf in the wake of a narrow 2-1 defeat to Manchester United at the weekend, but Flemming is under no illusions regarding the challenge Oliver Glasner's side will pose on Wednesday evening.

"I think you know what you're going to face when you play Palace - they're a really good team, with some top players," said the Dutch striker.

"They've got a lot of quality, they're being managed very well.

"They're never easy to beat, but we want to pose them questions of our own too."
