2021-07-26T13:59:25.171Z
The U23s will kick off their Premier League 2 campaign at West Bromwich Albion.
The Clarets will start out their second season in the competition with a trip to face the Baggies at Telford United’s New Bucks Head ground on Monday, 16 August.
Burnley’s first home game is against Sunderland – who missed out on promotion last season in a penalty shoot-out defeat to Crystal Palace in the Second Division play-off final – at the Lancashire FA headquarters in Leyland on Monday, 23 August.
The Clarets, who are currently under the care of interim boss Michael Jackson, will use both Leyland and Curzon Ashton as home venues, as well as playing some of their fixtures at Turf Moor.
Evening fixtures in the league will kick off at 7pm.
The Clarets, who finished one point outside the Division Two play-off places last season, will face Nottingham Forest and Birmingham City for the first time in PL2 following their elevation to the league as a result of gaining Category One status at academy level.
And the U23s will also compete this season in the Premier League Cup and Central League Cup with fixtures to be released at a later date.
