Following feedback from female fans and members of the Club’s Fan Advisory Board, Burnley FC are delighted to introduce an improved range of womenswear items, available to purchase from the Clarets Store.
Recognising a lack of offering for female fans, female staff members came together to design a range for the store, with items including a hoodie, fleece, crew neck jumper, vest top, cropped tops and joggers.
Collaborating with supplier Infinity, the female staff from a range of departments across the Club, used personal experience to bring the items to life, aiming to deliver a range aimed at young female fans, centred around comfort and clothing the fans could wear to games at Turf Moor.

Burnley FC’s Ecommerce Manager, Rachael O’Callaghan said: “When I presented to the Fan Advisory Board last year some of the feedback we received about our retail offering was the lack of women’s clothing and sizes. This spurred us on to deliver an improved range for women that hopefully female fans will appreciate.
“As female staff we formed a group to come up with ideas of what we would like to see from the range, input into designs including crests and colours, and advised on sizing. We wanted it to be wearable and it was important to us that female fans had choice in the Clarets Store too. Infinity then went away and mocked up the designs, came in and presented samples and colours to us as a group, which we then approved and signed off.”
The female staff from the Club that were involved in designing the range include Rachael O’Callaghan, Ashlyn Pace, Samiya Rahman, Naomi Baggaley, Gemma Porter, Nancy Tucker and Leah Hirst.

With the range launched online and instore now, the group are already thinking ahead to a second phase ensuring the offering is inclusive to females of all ages.
“It’s been brilliant to see the journey from the ideas stage to becoming a reality,” added Rachael. “It was disappointing to hear several female fans felt there wasn’t the choice for them, that gave us a real determination to deliver something that we hope they will enjoy.
“This is very much a starting point for us, the first range is targeted at the younger age group, but we are already thinking about a second launch which will be more inclusive to older female fans. We want females of all ages to feel like there’s something for them and to bring them on this journey with us.”
The womenswear range is available to purchase from the Clarets Store online and instore now, with new items due to be released soon.
