A winning Leah Embley goal last weekend saw the Clarets continue their strong league form, securing a valuable three points against Wolves.
Attention now turns to the Adobe Women’s FA Cup this Sunday and a meeting with top of the Women’s Championship Birmingham City Women, and Embley is hoping the momentum of recent results will help the squad rise to what’s set to be a big challenge against the higher tier opposition.
"I'm looking forward to the game, but the opposition is tough. It will be a great test to see how we react and if there are any areas in our performance which we need to improve.”
So, how much will the Wolves win help heading into the fixture?
“We were buzzing with the win and to secure the three points. It was great to get my name on the scoresheet as well, I have never scored a goal from that long-range before!
“Getting those key moments during the campaign builds the team's confidence. Throughout the season my own confidence has grown massively, which I believe has a major influence on the team."
Sunday's opposition Birmingham City, head into the encounter unbeaten in nine of twelve fixtures played so far this campaign, however the winger is hoping the home advantage will help.
"I love playing back at the Lancashire FA County Ground as it means all our family, friends and fans can come down and support us.
“It would mean so much to me [to reach the next round]! If we get through this round and progress further in the competition, it would be a great experience.
"All my family and friends will be supporting. Hopefully the fans can come and support also, as it would mean so much to the squad - and it will make such a positive difference to our performance."
