Sean Dyche refused to be drawn on whether his switch to a five-man midfield last weekend will continue at Wolves this weekend.
The Clarets head to Molineux (12pm KO) looking to end their three-match losing streak and take a giant stride towards Premier League security.
And after the introduction of an extra midfielder, with Jack Cork replacing striker Matej Vydra, came within eight minutes of earning a deserved point at Manchester United last weekend, Dyche admits the system has given him food for thought.

The gaffer said: “The team can operate in different manners when we need it and when it’s appropriate.
“We felt it was appropriate the other night, against Manchester United, but that doesn’t necessarily mean we feel it’s appropriate against Wolves.
“Historically, I know the stats and the facts of how we perform, but it’s good that players can operate in different roles.
“We’ve often had to do that through injuries and through the fact we don’t invest in the team as much as everyone else.
“It was pleasing to see it did work the other night, although we didn’t get anything for it, so we can’t look beyond that. We need things that can win, not just work.”

Back-to-back wins over Fulham and Sheffield United have eased Wolves into mid-table security ahead of the Clarets’ visit.
And with Fulham sitting out this weekend with no game, Dyche knows a positive performance at Molineux could see his side open the gap to nine points and go a long way towards securing safety.
“A lot of good work has been done since game seven and a lot of points put on the board,” he added.
“The recent performances have been decent, and we’ve dominated a couple of games, which we don’t always do.
“We’ve never really lacked positivity, but we have to make it happen rather than wait for it to happen.
“I’ve been confident every season, but confidence doesn’t win you games. You need a team that performs to win you games, and we’ll hopefully turn any confidences we have, individually and collectively, into winning football matches.”
The week has, of course, been dominated by the leaked story and subsequent collapse of the European Super League.
News first broke of the proposed breakaway by six Premier League clubs as the Clarets took to the field at Manchester United – one of the clubs involved – last Sunday.

And almost a week on, Dyche reflected that football united in a positive way, with fans the big winners as the fall-out continues over the controversial proposals.
“I had a strong feeling what was probably going to happen, and that was a reaction from all, and certainly the fans,” added the Burnley boss.
"I think, eventually, the fans have looked after football in a way.
“They have gripped hold of a situation and come out with a strong voice against. I think football has found its way and fans are powerful.
"People have suggested that fans will weaken because of the strength of media and finance, but I think it is good for the game now and again when fans do gather their thoughts and come together collectively and say 'no, we are not having that'
"And that has been a powerful thing on this occasion."
Clarets+ will have live commentary from Molineux on Sunday from 11.45m.
