Burnley manager Sean Dyche feels that the Clarets must turn draws into wins, but he is confident in his side’s abilities ahead of Watford’s visit to Turf Moor on Wednesday night.
Dyche’s men picked up a positive point last Sunday with a 0-0 draw against Champions League hopefuls, West Ham United, and the boss hopes it can provide a positive platform to build upon leading into the next game.
Claudio Ranieri’s Hornets arrive in East Lancashire for a midweek clash in front of the BT Sport cameras – and a Burnley victory would see them leapfrog their opponents from Vicarage Road.
Dyche knows what his squad must do to turn one point into three as they prepare for the second of three games in six days.
“We’ve slowly but surely been getting back to where we I think can be, certainly with clean sheets and being tighter in games, and draws. We understand we have to make those draws into wins," said Dyche.
“All games are the same, it’s all about the three points. It’s a strange situation in football, we’ve been down in this situation before, there’s a lot of games to come and there’s a lot of football to be played.

“We’ve been down this road before and it’s not a road that we want to be down, but we are where we are in the table.
“We know the challenges that’s in front of us, our players definitely do, and the fans certainly do as well. In that case, the next game is the most important one regardless of who you are playing, because you need to pick up points wherever you can.
“You don’t need one win, you need lots of them, so it’s how you get them and how you challenge yourself over a season, and that’s definitely the experience I’ve had in the Premier League being at Burnley and that’s what we need to continue to do going forward.
“You need to get the details right, as managers and coaches you need to get the team in the right areas, whether that be a cross or a pass, and what’s where the players step in, and you have that trust in the players, and we trust the players here, to go and play with that freedom and confidence, and you build it from yourself, your team and those around you.

Manager Sean Dyche has discussed our Premier League match at home to Watford on Saturday 5th February, 6pm kick-off at Turf Moor.
“Our coaching angle is to get them in the right areas and cause problems for the opposition, which we did against West Ham, and it ended with us getting a clean sheet and a good point.
“We’ve got a good group with experience, we know the challenge for us, and we still have to go out and perform, so we’ve got to take that thinking, football doesn’t owe you anything and you have to go and grab it.
“I believe totally in the players we’ve got, there’s a good group and a lot of talent here, and I know the challenge of the Premier League.
“Watford are still trying to adapt, he (Claudio Ranieri) will still be looking at the players and trying to find the right mix and format. Usually when a manager goes in, there’s a different feel from the players, so we’ll see.”
