Boss Sean Dyche hopes to harness the feel-good energy in the dressing room when Burnley take on Tottenham in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday.
The Clarets are yet to win in the league this season, though have beaten both Newcastle and Rochdale in the League Cup to set up a clash against Spurs at Turf Moor.
And after this weekend’s 2-2 draw at Southampton, Dyche says the mood within the camp is high and that he and his players are targeting both a strong league and cup campaign.
He said: “Winning enhances moods, it enhances what you do, but because there’s no guarantee of winning I think you’ve got to make sure that there is a consistent approach to work.
“I do find it important that with all the successes we’ve had down through the years that we stay intact as a group and what we do on the training ground.

“There’s always a positive edge to it and it doesn’t guarantee results, but I think it always gives you a better mindset to play football and achieve what you want to achieve.
“The mood’s good. We had a positive display in Southampton, a few positive displays recently. Trying to add to the positive feel is to win games and that layers up with the mentality and what you do.
“We’re all aware of the importance of the league programme and its importance to the club, but it’s still nice to do well in these tournaments if you can and so far we’ve got through the first two rounds.
“It’s not an easy task against Tottenham, they’re a very high level group of footballers, but we like to think ours are growing.
“We’re getting fitter, we’re getting stronger again and I think the mentality is good. So we certainly take on the game without a doubt.”
With a league match against Brentford coming up this weekend and some ongoing injury concerns, Dyche is aware of the need to reshuffle his squad.

But he doesn’t believe any changes made will have any impact on what takes place at Turf Moor tomorrow night, adding: “We’ve changed the team in the previous rounds, we’ve put a team out that I believed could win and we have done.
“It’s no easy task playing anyone, particularly Tottenham, and we know that, but I think they’ve made changes recently in various games.
“We will look to make changes but I believe in the group. We’re nearly back to full fitness. We’re getting back to a group that are nearly fully fit.
“We want that to stay the same so we will be making changes.”
