Burnley Football Club is pleased to confirm that defender Owen Dodgson has signed a new three-year deal at Turf Moor.
The left-back joined the Clarets in 2020 from Manchester United and went on to make his first team debut two years later in the FA Cup against Huddersfield Town.
Dodgson now has had a good level of first-team experience under his belt, starting with a loan spell in League Two at Rochdale in 2022/23.
He started last season in League One with Barnsley before being recalled to join our strategic partner club Dundee, where he made 16 Scottish Premier League appearances.
The 21-year-old’s new contract will see the full-back stay at Burnley until at least the summer of 2027.
After signing the papers at Burnley Training Centre, he said: “I’m very happy. Since I joined the Club everybody has taken me in and treated me very well.
“I’ve always known what I’ve needed to do since being here, and this is only the beginning. I need to kick on now and impress everyone and pre-season is a great time to do that.
“My loans last season were two different experiences and I definitely learnt from both.
“There were so many different aspects and as a young player that’s what I needed; I feel a lot better in myself that I’ve experienced both situations.”
