18-year old Owen Dodgson made his FA Cup debut for Sean Dyche's men on Saturday at Turf Moor, before featuring for the U23s on Monday night at Leyland against Birmigham City in Premier League Two.
Dodgson started at left-back for the Clarets and played a full 90 minutes, as Michael Jackson's side drew 1-1 with the Blues, with Dara Costelloe on the score-sheet.
And Dodgson, who can operate at left-midfield or left-back, admitted the side were disappointed to not come away with all three points at the County Ground.
“I think as a team together we played really well, especially the first-half we really dug in.
“Especially with the circumstances that we’ve got at the minute with Covid, the young lads have come in and done really well.
“We created chances, put crosses in and it was just the end product we were missing tonight.
“We’re disappointed to not come away with the win, I thought we did enough to get the three points, but move onto the next one now.”
The Lancaster-born youngster replaced Dale Stephens in the 81st minute on Saturday, as the Clarets searched for an equaliser against Huddersfield.
And Dodgson, who fired in a couple of dangerous crosses into the area, was delighted to get on the pitch and make his senior debut for the Clarets.
The teenager smiled: “It was an amazing feeling, personally and for my family, it’s all I’ve been working for since I was a young lad and since joining Burnley.
“I found out the day before I was involved in the squad, there’s been a few covid cases in the first team squad, so they were missing a few.
“But I’ve been working hard, training hard then trained with the first team and found out I would be in the squad.
“I wasn’t too nervous when I came on, I was ready and excited and just really pleased to get on, it was just a shame about the result in the end.
“I just have to keep working hard now and keep doing what I’m doing and see where it takes me.”
