Halil Dervişoğlu became manager Vincent Kompany's 15th signing of the summer, on transfer deadline day on Thursday afternoon.
The 22-year-old striker joined the Clarets on a season-long loan from Brentford and in his first interview with Clarets+, the Turkish international confessed his excitement of arriving at Turf Moor, playing under Vincent Kompany and carrying his previous experience with him this season.
Dervişoğlu on joining Burnley:
“I am very happy to be here at this big club. I have had a warm welcome from everybody here so far.
“It’s a great team and I can’t wait to be a part of it now.”
Dervişoğlu on playing under Vincent Kompany:
“I have had a couple of chats with him, I felt good, and it gave me the feeling that I want to be here.
“There are a lot of things I can learn, playing under him, being one of the best players in the world.
“I will be looking to always learn things from him and become a better player here.”
Dervişoğlu on previous loan spells and experience:
“Every player who plays more will become better and become more mature over time.
“I think I have learnt a lot over the last couple of years, in several ways on and off the pitch.”
Dervişoğlu on life in England:
“It’s a different culture over here, from over in Holland. Over my time in London, I think I have adapted well to England.
“So, it will help me now moving here and to understand things easier.”
Dervişoğlu on the busy Championship fixture schedule:
“Of course, every player should love to play games. I enjoy playing and look forward to all the matches we have left.”
Dervişoğlu on what the Clarets fans can expect from him:
“They can expect someone that is going to give his all and everything out on the pitch to help.
“Football wise, someone that loves to get hold of the ball and score goals!”
