Josh Cullen described his overriding feeling as disappointment following the Clarets narrow 1-0 defeat to Millwall on Sunday afternoon but said that he and the team know what they need to improve and work on moving forward.
The midfielder said he was keen for the squad to get back to the training ground to work hard at putting things right.
“Disappointment is what I'm feeling initially. I think we started the game well the first 15/20 minutes and then let them come back into it second half. I just think we know where we need to improve all in all. As a team we need to be more creative, we need to tidy up on a few things.
“Second half the game could have gone either way I thought. They obviously get a goal from a cross into the box and ultimately that decides the game.”
After going ahead, the atmosphere inside the Den grew and Millwall weren't making it easy for the visitors as they pushed for an equaliser. How did Cullen feel the team dealt with the atmosphere and with the home side when they had their tails up after taking the lead?
“I think we knew what it was going to be like. As professionals we know what to expect when we come here and to other away stadiums as well. The atmosphere is what it is, and we have to be the ones that can deal with that. I think we did; I don’t think we let that affect us, it’s just purely we know the things we need to work on to grow as a team, improve and be more of a threat going forward."

The defeat is only the Clarets' second in the league this season, with the last loss coming against Sunderland back in August. With that in mind Cullen feels Burnley's young and relatively inexperienced squad has plenty of scope for development.
“Look we’ll keep working hard, it’s the first defeat in ten games. We just have to get back to the training ground now and keep working hard to try to put things right.
“Yeah, we have some young players who are still developing and gaining more experience as they go along. It’s down to us as a team. We know that probably performances haven’t quite been where we want them to be. There’s been some good things, don’t get me wrong, but we know as a group, we can feel it. Not too many words need to be said, everyone knows that we need to improve. It’s easy for me to come out here and say it, it’s another thing now that we need to go back, work hard, and show it.
“We have another game coming round quickly on Thursday night against West Brom, another tough game. We need to bounce back quick and put things right.”
