Josh Cullen completed 90 minutes on Tuesday evening against Shrewsbury Town, as Vincent Kompany's side booked their spot in the Carabao Cup third round with a 1-0 victory.
The Irish midfielder was pleased with the Clarets' performance at the Montgomery Waters Meadow Stadium and discussed the win post-match with the media.
Cullen on the victory:
"We know ties like this can be difficult and it proved to be that tonight.
"Obviously, when you get one goal it gives them something to come out and play for and chase.
"But i think we dealt with it well as a team and overall it's a good night's work."
Cullen on the performance:
"The manager touched on it, no matter what personnel or names are out there on the pitch, that we play in the same manner as we always do.
"Credit to all the boys that came in, who probably haven't played as much as they would have liked so far, but it shows the quality we have within the squad.
Cullen on keeping a clean sheet:
"If you keep a clean sheet, you can't lose, so that's something we need to pride ourselves on going forward.
"So, going forward we give ourselves more of a chance of winning games, if we can keep more of them."
Cullen on the trip to Wigan on Saturday:
"They come thick and fast and we're looking forward to Saturday.
"We want to get into the habit of that winning mentality within the squad.
"But we have to rest and recover now properly ahead of Saturday, which is another big game for us."
