Burnley Football Club are pleased to confirm that forward Dara Costelloe has signed a contract extension that takes him up to June 2026. He will now head out to Sky Bet League One side Northampton Town for the remainder of the campaign.
On signing his new deal, Costelloe says he’s ready to write the next chapter of his career: “I’m delighted to have signed a new contract for Burnley!
“Having come through the academy to be part of the Premier League squad a year later was amazing.
“The club have continued to support my development as a footballer and I’m now looking forward to the next step with a loan spell at Northampton Town.”
The Irishman spent the first half of this season on loan with Accrington Stanley, where he scored five league goals in 21 games for the League two side, before an injury meant the 22-year-old returned to Burnley earlier this month.
After a rehab programme with the Clarets and now extending his stay with the Club, Costelloe will head to Sixfields for the rest of the season to gain further first team experience.
We would like to wish Dara all the best during his time with the Cobblers.
