Jack Cork believes the squad have the experience and what it takes, to secure a seventh successive season in the top-flight, as Burnley gear up for a Boxing Day clash with Everton.
The Clarets currently sit 18th in the Premier League table, just two points behind Watford, meaning a win on Sunday would see Sean Dyche's men climb out the bottom three, with the Hornets' game with Wolves postponed due to Covid.
But Cork admits the side don't take too much notice of the results around them and need to focus on picking the points up themselves.
The former Southampton and Swansea midfielder said: “The group we have is a very experienced group that won’t worry about where we are currently in the table.
“A lot of this team have been in this position previously and we tend to try not look at other teams and results around us.
“We just all know that the only way we will stay up and move up the table is by getting points and that’s down to us.
“There’s no real point in looking at anyone else, it’s normally around the 35-point mark and that will be what we’re aiming for to begin with."
The Clarets took on Everton in September at Goodison Park, where Ben Mee gave Burnley the lead, but three goals in quick succession for the Toffees gave the hosts the win.
And Cork knows, despite Rafa Benitez's side sitting 14th and just eight points above Sean Dyche's men, that they can still pose a dangerous threat.
“We played them earlier in the season and we were quite comfortable in the first-half, but then there was that 10/15-minute period in the second-half, where they really turned it up.
“They have some really good attacking players; they can change a game when they need to.
“I watched a bit of their game against Chelsea the other day and although they were missing a few, they were still dangerous.
“We know it will be a tough game, but we’ll get ready for it and prepare this week."
