Defender Connor Roberts looks ahead to Sunday's Turf Moor meeting with Liverpool

Roberts on recent performances and results:

“We’ve been building since the Arsenal game to be honest, the Watford game in the middle of that and Man United was a little bump, but we haven’t conceded any goals in our last three.

“It has been positive since the Arsenal game, against United nobody probably expected us to get anything.

“Going 1-0 down, people probably thought that was it. But the lads pulled it out the bag in the second half and we showed what we could do.

“Before we played Arsenal, many would have probably said we would only pick up points against Watford and lost against the others, but we have got points in all three.”

Roberts on Liverpool:

“They have lots of good players, that the lads have come up against a lot and I have as well myself.

“It will be a tough game, but all we can do is give everything we can and do what we do to get something from it.

“All of us know what they do, what they’re about and how good they are.

“When you’re out there on the pitch, you just have to do your job to the best you can and work with the team to put in a performance.”

Roberts on Wout Weghorst:

“I think the Watford game, we didn’t really get the ball to him as much as we would have liked to.

“But in the second half against United, we really saw what he was about, winning the ball, the turn and pass for the goal, he was great.

“Hopefully he can be a good asset for us and find the back of the net, he wants to sore goals and help us and help the team get out of the position we are in.”

Roberts on the supporters:

“The fans have been brilliant and credit to them, hopefully we can start repaying them soon.

“We weren’t the best in the first-half against United, but they still clapped us off and kept us going and it paid off in the second half.

“We just need fight and togetherness from everyone.”
