Following reports sent to us this week regarding incidents of homophobic abuse at our match against Brighton & Hove Albion we want to be clear that we do not tolerate offensive chanting or hate speech of any form at Turf Moor.
A full and thorough investigation is now taking place and anyone found guilty of this behaviour will be punished accordingly.
We remind all fans that anyone found to be responsible for offensive chanting on matchdays will be ejected from the stadium and maybe arrested. There is no place for such behaviour in our game.
Whilst we understand it is a minority who engage in this behaviour, we are aware it has a negative impact and is not a reflection of Burnley Football Club and what we stand for.
If you witness the use of any discriminatory language or behaviour at Turf Moor, we urge you to report it urgently. Supporters can text CLARETS RESPECT and your message to 66777. All texts remain anonymous.
Alternatively, you can approach a steward or make a report via the dedicated Kick It Out app.
We thank supporters for their cooperation.
