In line with the increased awareness around mental health and the impact on the wellbeing of workers, the club will be appointing a clinical Psychologist, working across the whole organisation to lead and deliver the club’s mental health strategy.
Based between Turf Moor and the training centre, the new position demonstrates the intent and commitment to the wellbeing of staff and players at the club, at a pivotal time of transition and change.
Alan Pace, Burnley FC Chairman, said: “We are continuing to develop Burnley FC on and off the pitch and believe this role, working across the entirety of the club, will help us deliver a better standard of care to our players and staff.
“In football, as in all industries, the significance of understanding mental health and the wellbeing of workers has never been more apparent and so I see this role as absolutely vital to the club and wider staff base.

“Work in this area is ongoing, we recently organised mental health training for staff members, with 16 employees from across the football club and charity trained as Mental Health First Aiders.”
The ideal candidate for the role will be a Chartered Clinical Psychologist with HCPC registration and have experience in the development and implementation of mental health pathway within an organisation.
The club are looking for an empathetic, collaborative individual, who has the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team alongside doctors, physiotherapists, social workers, education professionals, psychiatrists, and occupational therapists, to offer a holistic approach.
