Burnley Football Club can confirm the signing of Ellis Clark, who joins our U21s squad following a successful trial period.
The midfielder has agreed a contract that runs until the summer of 2026, with the Club holding the option to extend it by a further 12 months.
“I’m really excited to be here,” he said.
“Burnley is a big club, and the fans are really passionate. You can see the connection there and it should be a really exciting next chapter for me.
“There are a lot of high-quality players here and the facilities are really good. The staff have been really good with me too, so it’s a nice environment to be in.
“It’s going to be a really good challenge to be playing some of the best players in the country in Premier League 2.”
Clark has been with Scottish Premiership side Aberdeen since he was eight years old, progressing right the way through their academy.
A central midfielder, the 18-year-old was part of the Dons’ U18s league title winning side of 2023/24 and gained his first senior experience on loan at Highland League side Turriff United last season.
Clark also has UEFA Youth League appearances to his name and came off the bench to provide the assist for Michael Mellon’s goal in Monday night’s PL2 match against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Academy Manager Chris Casper added: “Ellis is somebody that we have liked for a long time, and it’s great to be able to welcome him to Burnley.
“His on-the-ball qualities and physical attributes suit what we’re looking for in the middle of the pitch, and I look forward to seeing him develop this season.”
