Burnley Football Club is extremely pleased to confirm that we have signed the Muslim Athlete Charter, demonstrating its continued commitment to equality and diversity for all.
With an increase of Muslim players in the profession as well as support from Muslim supporters, Burnley Football Club sought to sign the Muslim Athlete Charter to listen, learn & adopt good practice to help our players and staff flourish and our supporters feel valued and welcomed.
The Charter is a commitment to recognise Muslim needs in football as a whole as well as the Club, and a check list in addressing Muslim players’ needs.
This pledge is a part of Burnley Football Club's ongoing work around Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) & an important aspect for us to understand, grow & adopt good practice.
Ann-Marie Bradley, Head of HR at Burnley Football Club said “We are delighted to the sign the Muslim Athlete Charter. Along with our season long partnership with Building Bridges we believe that this is an integral part of our work in providing support to our Muslim players, staff and supporters. By signing the Muslim Athlete Charter and by understanding the Muslim faith and cultural needs, we can truly say that we represent our town as well as making all feel valued and appreciated at Burnley Football Club. One Club For All."
